Nat that is one SEXY guitar. I wholeheartedly approve.
Brady, I still don't own an acoustic yet because I love tiny ugly bad sounding ones, and I haven't found one yet that fits all those criteria but still stays in tune, so cherish your little guy. 4 to 6 hundred can get you a pretty bitchin' guitar, especially if you get one used. Pretty much everything by Epiphone is worth the money you pay for it. A lot of Squier guitars are really good, but you have to be careful, the higher priced, the better the squier. I buy used all the time, I don't like to pay more than 500 for anything. If you wait patiently and have an open mind, you can usually come across a really bitchin' used guitar for really cheap. I bought a strat for 125 once and right now it's my guitar of choice.

Laura, it looks like a 70s Silvertone acoustic. My friend had one, they were downright nifty. She smashed it. I hated her for it.
Anne, that sounds like fun! Now for mindless self indulgence:

Butters: An Epiphone Les Paul Junior '57 Doublecut reissue in TV yellow. I don't know what year they put this out, it was a limited edition and I bought it used for 100 bucks. Had intended on replacing the pickup with something more expensive, because I assumed it sucked. It's still the orignial.

A 2000 Fender Standard Telecaster. I had wanted a tele since I started playing guitar (blame patrick and jay) and when I finally got together enough money from playing gigs for various people, especially in the country vein, I decided not only was I deserving, but it was prudent that I play a tele. I was going to save up and buy an american made or a reissue '52 or something, but I walked in the store and played this one by chance, and ended up walking out the door with it. It's the most consistently battered and road worn guitar I own, it's reliable.

Jakey: A 1992 Fender Stratocaster. I bought this about 2 years ago now from a guy who needed money really bad. His price kept getting lower and lower, and I still couldn't afford it. He was trying to sell it through the music store I worked at, but no one was biting fast enough. He called me at home and offered me an undisclosed amount that I could not refuse. I bought it, played a talent contest the next day where I used it for one song. The guy I was playing for ended up winning the contest and I ended up getting twice as much for two songs as I paid for it. It paid for itself in one song. It's now my favorite.

1999-2000 Danelectro '59 DC 2 reissue. This guitar technically isn't mine, it's my brothers, but he doesn't care for it too much and is also primarily a drummer. So it lives with me right now. It's made out of masonite and plywood and lipstick tubes and television knobs and it's purple sparkle. It's very low output, meaning I can turn up the amp and beat on it and it still gets an awesome jangly sound.

2000 Fender Jazz Bass. I worked as a bassist for a very long time, because I'm sure a lot of guitar players will tell you, it's easier to get a job playing bass. Everyone wants to be lead guitarist, not the bassist... I also had a bass and drums duo for a long time and used this bad boy to scare away crowds. I'm also quite unfair to this bass, dropping it, surfing on it, throwing it and smashing out lights with it. And it still works!
Spread out across my home county I also have the aformentioned harmonies, a really fancy yamaha from the late 80s and a 1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. I don't dare take it to the city, because I'd never play it here and I don't want anything happening to it.

Yeah actually, I have had a loan of a Danelectro 12. It was a DC 2 in white pearl that a friend had. He was mostly an acoustic player, but started up a trio and needed a good electric. So I lent out my tele for like 4 months and he lent me the Dano. It was pretty far out.
I never liked strats as a general rule. I like the sounds they make, I just never felt comfortable playing one (I tend to like heavier guitars with non contoured bodies). But then when I got ahold of this one, and the neck has been nice and seasoned, and the edges are worn down, it's the best strat ever, for me. I have it wired with 500k volume and tone pots just to make it a tiny bit hotter. It's great.
The Junior is actually not very true to the Gibson '57. It's got a bolt on neck, the body is light as heck and the neck is basically a nicer version of the one they put on the Epiphone Special IIs. The guy before me had this one and a single cut sunburst from the same year. He decided he wanted one to be a string through body, so when i got it, it had horribly drilled bare holes in the back, all crooked with the string balls digging into them. I had my brother do some repair and put some ferrules in it. I haven't found anyone else who cares for it when they play it. You kinda have to wrestle it to play past the twelfth fret, but I have big hands and I don't mind at all. The pickup is hot as heck, and the volume and tone are so good that it makes the guitar very versatile.
Edited to Add: I totally agree with you on the Junior thing though. It's pretty much one of the only guitars I have interest in, on the Gibson side of things.
