I like the Hollerado record (Record in a Bag). It's a fun one. Besnard Lakes last one was really good. The Young Galaxy record is good too. I forget what it's called. Islands are good. Not sure how 'indie' these are but I'm old. Not Canadian, but I really like Hayes Carll and Bill Callahan and Girls. And the Real Estate album is great too. |

Broken Social Scene : I know they are not exactly under the radar, but I feel with last years album, they really made a statement on how good they are. I'm gonna have to say it: Entire Cities. Sorry for the shameless plug here. Canadian: The Acorn, Ohbijou, Timber Timbre. I guess all of those are pretty folky. That's the sort of thing I like these days! Not Canadian: friggin' TUNE-YARDS. Usually styled tUnE-yArDs. She is unbelievable. Also the new Mountain Goats is awesome. ____________________ |
